خياط في الحرب:
ذاك الخياط كان ممن يسمونهم في سوريا بالأقليّات،
عندما اندلعت الحرب مشى بصمت نحو دكانه
فتحه صنع قهوته ودخن سيجارتين
وبدأ يعمل، همّه إبرة ماكينة الخياطة ألا تنكسر، والتيار الكهربائي أن يستمر
والخيوط التي تصنع الحبكة ألا تنقطع،
هو لا يبالي بكل ما يدور خارج دكانه من صراعات وفركات وتراهات
هو ليس مع أحد …
كما أنه ليس ضد أحد..
سار ببطء حمل علبة سجائره الفارغة ضغط عليها بيده كحركة معتادة
منذ سنين طِوال
رماه في سلة المهملات، ونادى صبيا صغيرا من الحي طلب منه أن يشتري له علبة سجائر…. الصبي أخذ من يده النقود وركض فلقد حفظ اسم دخانه المفضل
وعاد مبتسما أعطاه العلبة فشكره الخيّاط ببرود وبصوت منخفض بالكاد يُسمع هو هكذا يعبر للجميع ببطء وبرود….
الصبي من فئة أخرى غير الأقليات
ولكنه أيضا لا يكترث
للترّاهات والفبركات والعنف الحديث القديم….
هو لا يدري ماهو انتماء الخياط ولا انتماء البائع هو فقط يريد أن يلعب ويريد أن يساعد.❤️

A Tailor in War:
That tailor was one of those who are called minorities in Syria. When the war broke out, he walked silently towards his shop. He opened it, made his coffee, and smoked two cigarettes. He began to work. His concern was that the sewing machine needle would not break, that the electricity would continue, and that the threads that made the fabric would not break. He did not care about anything going on outside his shop: conflicts, disagreements, and nonsense. He was not with anyone… nor was he against anyone… He walked slowly, carrying his empty pack of cigarettes and pressing it
With his hand, as a habitual gesture for many years he threw it in the trash can and called a young boy from the neighborhood who asked him to buy him a pack of cigarettes… The boy took the money from his hand and ran, having memorized the name of his favorite cigarette. He returned smiling and handed him the pack. The tailor thanked him coldly, in a low voice that could barely be heard. This is how he conveyed himself to everyone, slowly and coldly… The boy was from a different class than the minorities, but he also didn’t care about the nonsense, fabrications, and modern-day violence…
He doesn’t know what a tailor’s affiliation is, nor what a salesman’s affiliation is. He just wants to play and help. ❤️.
